Me 2 You – August 2019

This month now we are in the summer break, this has allowed me to divert some of my attention to Project 25. In a way, I’m glad I started this a few months ago as it’s taking me longer than expected. It has been suggested I stop doing this post, but in the long term, I believe this is a round-up of content and analysis of things which are happening around the world.

Small business is what makes this country work, this month my aunt opened a hat shop in a market town in The Cotswolds. Speaking about her journey it reminded me of those stories we often hear about startups, the long hours in and the “why am I doing this?” question.

I hope she has the success with this venture, and it continues to grow! But, it’s a risk, you have to admire those who don’t dream, as I’m sure we all do and do it. They are brave but know its hugely risky! But we all need to do take risks.

Setting up this site was a risk, it’s a long term project as I hope I can over the years and decades ahead build great content. I know the winter and august are going to be my main production times, with the November project on going that has to be the priority.

The weekends Belgian Grand Prix will be overshadowed by the death of Anthoine Hubert, the first death in F2 since the tragic death of Henry Surtees and the first at a Grand Prix since Jules Bianchi in Japan in 2014. But both deaths of Surtees and Bianchi deaths lead to the halo.

The halo is believed Charles Leclerc’s life last year, how fitting that to come to Spa a year later and lose a close friend to win your first race in F1. We all know what he been through in the last five years, Bianchi death in a race, the death of his father and then Hubert’s accident. No man deserved to win that race!

Though we have only had one on-track death, 2019 is the deadliest season in recent memory, we lost Charlie Whiting the judge, jury and executor in Melbourne, Niki Lauda was lucky to live following his accident in 1976 but to live this long was unbelievable and Hubert’s death will hurt the sport.

What’s ahead? More Formula One, I’m currently trying to push through Project 25, once this is done more regular content hope to bring to you.
