Me 2 You – February 2020

February a month where we begin to look ahead after the cold January. The main story this month was the acquittal of Donald Trump in his impeachment trial, we know that was not a surprise as the trial was political and the jury were largely Republicans.

The thing I been focused on is ‘The Power of Human Stories’ something I haven’t managed to get out yet. My situation has changed, this blog is not my priority, it’s my campaigning with Labour.

This month’s The Question was ‘What Makes A Society’ I wanted to explore like the building blocks of the basis of the country we lived in and the place we are going to. Reflecting on the climate emergency it shows we all need to work together.

I mentioned last time I was having a week away where I could write. Well, thanks to Storm Ciara I had no access to the internet, that was hard being a city boy I’m used to having internet-connected 24/7. But, was a reminder of how bad day time TV is.

The biggest news story which I feel shouldn’t be a story was Philip Schofield coming out as gay. It was not an easy thing to watch, I feel we the media jump on personal stories, but this line hit me “All you can be in your life is honest with yourself and I was getting to the point where I knew I wasn’t honest with myself.”

My feelings about this was, why is this a news story, the context of Section 28 when he was on CBBC and how hard it was for him. It does eat you up, I have been through things but I understand why as I got older. I must finish my play…

What’s ahead, well with the beginning of the F1 season and other projects means writing for this blog is going to be hard. But when I can I’ll bring you new content, as ever Formula One Vault will have full coverage of the 2020 season…
