Me 2 You – July 2020
Round one of the F1 season began this month, I’ve decided to put off ‘F1 2020 Inside Story’ until 2021, which I’ll begin in testing in Barcelona in February. This month I’ve written another piece looking at Life After Coronavirus, I wanted to look at what aspects of our ‘lockdown lives’ we should look to keep.
The F1 season began with a triple header, at the time this is published I’m beginning the second-triple header. Even for me running my own website as a hobby which I do nearly full time, the mental and physical demands of preparing content for weekends draining. But, I enjoy it, hopefully, this season is a one-off.
In the second week of my holiday I loved the view of Summerleze Beach, I feel I struggled with motivation to go out to attractions. However, going into shops for the first time was strange, recording in my dairy/book ‘Life Beyond Lockdown’ I wrote several entries
‘Went into Padstow at lunchtime the first time in four months I’ve been shopping, it wasn’t comfortable as no one was wearing a face covering. After four months of isolation I think it’s important we expand compulsory coverings beyond public transport to all indoor shops.’ 13th July
‘I brought my face covering today ahead of it becoming mandatory in England on Monday, it’s strange to think we have gone years where covering your face wasn’t acceptable in public to wear face coverings to one where you need to wear on for safety.’ 18th July
‘It would be nice to go out to the pub, but feel it’s still too soon for me to have confidence. We are now two weekish after they were allowed to reopen, I think we are still yet to see the impact on the R-Rate or number of cases.’ 21st July
I haven’t decided what I am going to do with this apart from sending it to Bathnes archive, think it would be a good thing to publish. But need to explore this.
My conclusion, it’s going to take us time to get used to this and for those who were shielding to get used. I am aiming due to the intensity of the next few months with covering F1 to try to get at least one piece of content out.
What’s ahead in August, very little as mentioned above, I will bring you new content as four races in five weeks and then three races in four weeks in September. After September the draft calendar appears to have one week on one off for at least mid-October until the three races in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi late November/mid-December.
As ever your feedback is welcome…
