Me 2 You – October 2020

Most of this was written before the announcement of a second lockdown on 31st October

This month, I’ve continued to work on Trump’s America. The way this election ends is I think unknown, Joe Biden I think will win but I think that given the history of polling over the last few years we shouldn’t make predictions.

The Trump Presidency has been something which has fastened me, a reality TV show playing out on the news every day. Who knows when we will know who has won,

I’m back in Devon, going back seems like almost normal as people comply with the Coronavirus restrictions, I had this thought “Everything is normal, but normal has gone” what I mean is we have got used to the measures and found a way of living within these restrictions.

Watching and writing about the pandemic in my Covid-19 pandemic the last month as felt like a tipping point, across Europe as we enter autumn I feel we are at a tipping point. I feel proud of the seven months of work I’ve put in to this project, which I had no idea how long as do we all, this will last.

Covering F1 has been a story, we as I predicted saw Lewis Hamilton surpass Michael Schumacher’s ninety-one wins. I don’t think we will be able to assess that yet, I believe he will have to go for an eighth title next season, but the question is in 2022 when the regulations change does he walk away to protect his legacy?

Hamilton could equal Schumacher if he outscores teammate Valtteri Bottas by eight points in Istanbul in just two weeks… Imola was a hugely emotional weekend.

The first race for this generation of drivers who would have seen or heard about the deaths of Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna over that dreadful weekend in 1994. More in F1 Vault’s archive on Senna’s life.

As we enter a second lockdown things, I think will get hard, listening to Adam Hills on The Last Leg, “the second lockdown is harder.”

What’s coming up? I have been working so hard on other things there is nothing planned for this site ready to be turned into content.

But stay safe, and hopefully next year will be better!
