Me 2 You – April 2021

This month we lost one of the world’s most famous men, Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, whatever ever you think of monarchy you can’t take away his public service both in the Navy and as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. This is a family mourning, as we see one of the greatest generations who fought for our freedom and served the country for seventy years.

This month’s The Question was titled What is our responsibilities to the world this I wanted to explore how our responsibilities change, what is both collective and individual responsibility. This covered a wide range of areas from personal, society, professional, states and global responsibility.

It was a hard one to decide where to stop, but when it got to four pages, I thought it was getting a bit too long.

Though there isn’t much content at the moment I am hoping to bring you two pieces for LGBT History Month in June, these pieces have been worked on for months and I’m excited to be able to share them soon. I will thank everyone who has helped me get this together over the last two years.

I have some exciting pieces coming up in June for pride month, one of them titled ‘God, Guys, Goodness – what Christian’s have taught me about the true meanings.’ Its easily the most personal things I have written and researched, taken me two years to write and discuss with my friends and colleague.

I’ll get into that in June’s edition. The other piece is looking at the different kinds of flags and symbols which has grown since I began researching, I hope that I find a point to stop if I’m going to get it out in June.

After shielding I did manage to get away for a weekend, though I think it will be a while for me to be out by myself. I haven’t been using public transport and been relying on my mother and brother to drive me about, this is because I didn’t want to risk catching the virus. But I hope two weeks after my second vaccine I’ll be able to start to do more.

Throughout the last year after the lockdown I have been carefully watching how people are going about, admittedly this hasn’t been in Bath but when I’ve been away. People every time I think are being more aware of their duty to look after others
