Me 2 You – February 2019

February is an interesting month, still winter but near the end, the dull of January gone. This month is always one of excitement, F1 testing begins in a fortnight I’m off on holiday the week before. But also valentine’s day, this can be a low I’m single haven’t got a man but I’m enjoying my projects.

This month, I have brought you a piece on Vera Froud but although I wrote that a few years ago, her message ‘our NHS is something we need to protect’ but we would say that. I thing as Sister Froud said we need the NHS for people who can’t afford to pay.

The NHS is for everyone, based on three goals

  • That it meet the needs of everyone,
  • That it be free at the point of delivery,
  • That it be based on clinical need, not ability to pay

This From me to you is going to be something I hope to write through out the month, something like ‘From Our Correspondent’, with my insight, wit and analysis on what’s going around the world and my life.

I have been writing about equality too, that post went in a direction I wasn’t planning it to. It went from disability rights onto LGBTQ rights and woman’s rights. This features my own experiences both personal and interviews.

Obviously F1 Vault is my priority but I want to write more about the things which matter without deadlines, taking my time.

As this blog develops I want it to be about the issues which matter, I’m very keen on political news and events. We explored last month the Trump effect, as I said this has to be the best time to be a journalist and follow political happenings around the world.

I think global affairs and politics will be a major part of this site, I have been a news junkie for ten years which is surprising when you think that most young people aren’t interested in current affairs.

Icons I feel has been one of my most interesting pieces to write, I have taken another turn. That I believe is because what icons you look to depends on the situation and what you’re looking for inspiration for. Example when struggling with my disability I could look to Oscar Pistorius, however that poses the question about his actions on Valentine’s Day 2014.

I feel the easiest way to go about this is by asking one big question. That why I have launched ‘The Question’, I hope by asking one question I can explore and see where it takes me.

My week in Devon gave me a chance for some clear thinking and about the direction I want to go, that in. That is exploring the questions which matter as well as the topics I’m most interested in and series of blogs like ‘The Question’.
